Finance Manager

Position Title: Finance Manager (Non-profit)

Supervised By: Director of Training and Compliance

Job Purpose: Responsible for the financial operations of CACNC to include all accounting, auditing and grant related budgeting/reporting

Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance; 5 or more years of experience in nonprofit accounting preferred; must be proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office (especially Excel) applications; proficiency in developing and managing budgets; experience with managing and completing all aspects of federal and state grants; experience with completing annual and federal single audits; ability to work a flexible schedule; ability to travel throughout the state of NC and surrounding states as needed; ability to evaluate and develop annual funding strategies; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to assist in developing and implementing progressive fiscal policies

Additional Details: Full-time exempt; NC-based remote work. Some monthly in-state travel required; CACNC full-time benefit package includes 100% paid health insurance, PAL (Paid Annual Leave), holidays and 5% non-contributory retirement plan

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  1. Responsible for all data entry for expenses, revenue, and journal entries in QuickBooks Online and reconciliation of invoices/bank deposits/bank statements/credit cards
  2. Responsible for processing all vendor payments including reimbursements to sub-grantors and providing timely remittance notices and invoicing annual membership dues
  3. Oversee CACNC’s annual budgeting process, comply with all GAAP accounting practices and policies and coordinate with the external auditor for timely completion of the annual and federal single audits
  4. Provide outside subcontractor the data needed for the monthly payroll process; perform monthly and quarterly reconciliations of all payroll related accounts for accuracy
  5. Maintain general ledger, reconcile accounts monthly and provide bank reconciliations to Board Treasurer for review and approval
  6. Prepare monthly financial reports and any additional reports as may be needed
  7. Assist Executive Director in writing and developing budgets for federal and state grant applications
  8. Manage all external grants for compliance with grantor policies, including timely submission of cost reports, budget modifications and close-outs
  9. Complete grant cost reports and compile all supporting fiscal documentation for timely submission of cost reports
  10. Responsible for submission of 1099’s annually and North Carolina sales tax returns bi-annually
  11. Collect and deposit all cash and checks received; monitor and record revenue received through third-party processors
  12. Maintain Fixed Assets schedule on a monthly basis and calculate Depreciation expense annually for external audit
  13. Assist the Executive Director, CACNC staff or subcontracted accounting service providers as needed
